- 1 3/4 c . sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 c. cocoa
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/3 c. water
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease and flour two 8 or 9-inch round baking pans.

3In a large mixing bowl beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

4Add eggs and vanilla; beat on medium speed of electric mixer for 1 minute.
