Ingredients

  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 box raisins
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained and halved
  • 1 c. chopped English walnuts
  • 4 c. regular flour

Directions

    Mix together boiling water, margarine, baking soda and raisins. Let stand 3 hours.

    Then add remaining ingredients.

    Mix well and divide evenly in three 1 pound coffee cans which have been sprayed with Pam or well-greased.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
