  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 can pinto beans (1 lb. size)
  • black pepper to taste
  • 3/4 c. cornmeal
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. oil

Directions

    Combine ground beef and onion in skillet.

    Brown well, drain. Add tomato soup, water, salt, chili powder, pinto beans and black pepper.

    Mix well and let simmer 15 minutes.

    Top with corn bread topping.

    Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
