- 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
- 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2/3 c. milk
- 10 small wooden sticks
- 10 hot dogs
- oil for deep fat frying
Directions

1In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour and egg; mix well.

2Stir in milk to make a thick batter.

3Heat oil to 375 degrees.

4Place a wooden stick through the hot dog, make sure it is firmly in place.

5Dip hot dog in batter and fry until golden brown, about 5 to 6 minutes.

6Drain on paper towel.

7As a substitute for self-rising flour, place 1 tsp. baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt in a measuring cup.

8Add enough all-purpose flour to equal 3/4 cup.
