  • 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 4 Tbsp. vegetable oil

Directions

    In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients.

    Then add the egg, milk and oil.

    Bake at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

    After removing the cornbread from the oven, spread butter over the warm cornbread.
