Cornbread Dressing

  • 4 c. cooked cornbread
  • 4 c. day old loaf bread or hamburger buns, crumbled
  • 2 (14 1/2 oz.) cans chicken broth
  • 1/2 c. melted margarine
  • 3 eggs or 6 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 3/4 to 1 c. chopped onions
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • small amount black pepper
  • 1 tsp. poultry seasoning

Directions

    Saute onions and celery in margarine until color changes.

    Put crumbled cornbread and other bread in large mixing bowl.

    Add onions, celery, eggs and seasonings.

    Mix. Add chicken broth; mix well.

    Spray a 2-quart baking dish with Pam.

    Add mixture.

    Cook at 350° for about 30 minutes, or until mixture begins to brown. Serves 6 to 8.
