- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 3/4 c. boiling water
- 1/2 to 1 pork sausage, cooked, drained and crumbled
Directions

1In a saucepan, combine the cornmeal, milk, sugar and salt; gradually stir in water.

2Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat; cook, covered, 10 minutes longer or until very thick, stirring occasionally.

3Remove from heat and stir in sausage.

4Pour into buttered loaf pan.

5Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. To serve, cut 1/3-inch slices; dip in flour on both sides.

6Fry in skillet in melted butter over medium heat until browned on both sides.

7Serve warm with syrup.
