  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. shortening

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar; mix well.

    Add egg and vanilla; beat until fluffy.

    Sift dry ingredients together; add to mixture alternately with milk.

    Mix well after each addition.

    Bake in greased and floured 8-inch square pan at 350° for 30 minutes.
