- 1 1/2 saltine cracker crumbs
- 2 c. fine nuts
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 6 egg whites
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 c. granulated sugar
Directions

1Mix the first 3 ingredients together.

2Beat egg whites and vanilla until small peaks.

3Gradually add sugar to egg whites while beating until stiff peaks, but not dry.

4Carefully fold dry mixture into egg whites.

5Line cake pans with aluminum foil, shiny side up.

6Grease foil and divide the batter evenly into pans. Bake at 325° for 40 to 45 minutes.

7Let cool slightly.

8Lift foil from pan and peel foil away from layers.
