- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. flour
- 4 large eggs
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2In medium pan, combine water, butter and salt.

3Bring to a boil and remove from heat.

4With a wooden spoon, beat in flour all at once.

5Return to low heat.

6Continue beating until mixture forms a ball and leaves the side of pan. Remove from heat; beat in eggs, one at a time, beating hard after each.

7Continue beating until dough is shiny and breaks into strands.

8Drop by rounded teaspoon 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.

9Bake until puffed and brown (45 to 50 minutes). Puffs should sound hollow when tapped.

10Let cool completely on rack away from draft.

11Cut off tops and fill with pudding, jelly, whipped cream or whatever and replace tops.
