- 3 or 4 oz. sliced dried or smoked beef
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/3 c. milk (low-fat if desired)
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 4 to 6 slices buttered toast
- pepper
Directions

1Cook beef with butter in 10-inch skillet on medium for 3 minutes or until edges curl.

2Gradually stir in flour.

3Add milk all at once.

4Stir until thickened and bubbly.

5Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes more.

6Add Worcestershire sauce and pepper to taste. Spoon over buttered toast.

7Serves 3 to 4.
