  • 4 slice of white sandwich bread
  • 150 grams sharp cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 8 slice wafer thin ham
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup bechamel (white) sauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 pinch salt and black pepper

    Divide the cheese slices onto the bread, followed by the ham (4 slices on each) and make into two sandwiches

    Melt the butter in a large saute pan with 1 tablespoon of the oil, and when bubbling add the sandwiches.

    Fry both sides until browned, but don't let the butter burn

    Heat the other tablespoon of oil in a small saute pan and crack in the eggs.

    Fry to your liking.

    Put the sandwiches on plates, smother with bechamel.

    Top your sandwich with your fried egg, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
