- 7 lb. cucumbers, sliced
- 2 c. pickling lime
- 1 1/2 gal. cold water
- 4 lb. sugar
- 1 1/2 qt. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. whole cloves
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 Tbsp. pickling spices
Directions

1Cut cucumbers, unpeeled, in 3/8-inch slices.

2Dissolve pickling lime in cold water.

3Soak cucumbers in cold water solution 24 hours.

4Rinse cucumbers well and soak in clear water 3 hours. Dissolve the sugar in vinegar. Add salt, cloves, celery seed and pickling spices.

5Soak cucumbers in vinegar solution overnight.

6Cook on stove 35 minutes or until slices are clear. Put in hot jars and seal.
