- 7 lb. cucumbers, washed and sliced
- 2 c. lime
- 5 lb. sugar
- 2 qt. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. pickling spice
- 1 tsp. whole cloves
Directions

1Soak cucumbers in 2 gallons of water to which the 2 cups of lime has been added.

2Soak for 24 hours.

3Remove from lime water and rinse carefully.

4Soak in clear cold water for 3 hours.

5Drain and add the remaining ingredients.

6Let this mixture soak overnight.

7Next morning bring to a boil and simmer for about 1 hour or until pickles become green and taste done.

8Seal in jars.
