  • 4 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. milk, scalded
  • 1 (9-inch) pastry shell
  • nutmeg or coconut

Directions

    Blend eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla.

    Gradually stir in scalded milk.

    Pour into pastry shell.

    Sprinkle with nutmeg or 1/2 cup flaked coconut.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean.

    Cool on rack, then chill.
