  • 1 scant c. white cornmeal
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 egg, beat well
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 1/2 c. milk

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients; add 1 cup milk, egg and butter.

    Pour into a baking pan and put 1/2 cup milk on top.

    Do not stir.

    This will be soft like spoon bread.

    Bake at 400° for about 30 minutes. Serve warm.
