- 1 c. oleo (2 sticks)
- 2 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. cold water
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 3 eggs
- 2 c. confectioners sugar
- 4 Tbsp. cream (milk may be substituted)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cut 1/2 cup oleo into 1 cup of flour until it resembles coarse meal.

2Add cold water and stir until well blended.

3Divide dough in half.

4Press each half into a 12 x 3-inch oblong on an ungreased baking sheet.

5Place boiling water and remaining 1/2 cup of oleo into saucepan.

6Bring to a boil.

7Add almond extract and remove from heat.

8Stir in remaining 1 cup of flour.

9Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

10Spread this mixture over the oblongs.

11Bake in hot oven at 425° for about 50 minutes.
