Ingredients

  • 8 oz. dates, cut up
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 stick margarine
  • shredded coconut
  • 2 1/2 c. Rice Krispies
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Directions

    Put first 5 ingredients in saucepan on medium heat.

    Stir constantly for 10 minutes or until it boils.

    Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes.

    Add 2 1/2 cups Rice Krispies, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts; mix well.

    Roll into balls (grease hands or use spoon) and drop into coconut.

    Roll to coat. Store in airtight container.

    (Freezes well.)
