  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 3/4 c. chopped pitted prunes
  • 1/2 c. dark raisins
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 8 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. flour (regular flour)
  • 18 packets Equal
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Combine dates, prunes, raisins and water; heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until tender and water is absorbed, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add margarine and cool. Mix eggs until stiff. Spread in a greased 11 x 7 x 2 pan. Bake at 350° until cake springs back when touched lightly, about 30 to 35 minutes.
