  • 3/4 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 lb. dates, cut in small pieces
  • 1 3/4 c. enriched flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten well
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Pour boiling water over dates; let stand about 5 minutes. Sift dry ingredients.

    Add date mixture and eggs, mixing well. Fold in nuts.

    Pour into greased loaf pan.

    Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.
