- 1 c. sugar
- 1 stick margarine
- 4 egg yolks
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 lb. shelled pecans
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 lb. dates
Directions

1Cream sugar and margarine; add egg yolks one at a time, then add vanilla.

2Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.

3Then sift over nuts and dates.

4Mix this to cream mixture.

5Last, add 4 stiffly beaten egg whites.

6Pour into greased tube pan.

7Bake at 250° for 1 hour and 40 minutes.

8Cool in pan.
