  • 2 c. dates, minced
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 c. sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 c. nuts, minced

    Combine dates, 1/2 c. sugar, and water in saucepan.

    Cook, stirring occasionally, till mix is the consistency of very thick jam.

    Cold.

    Cream butter; add in sugars gradually, beating till light and fluffy.

    Beat in Large eggs and vanilla.

    Sift together dry ingredients.

    Add in to creamed mix, blending thoroughly.

    Stir in nut and date mix.

    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet.
