Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh pork sausage or smoked sausage
  • 1 lb. ground deer
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 4 to 5 crushed crackers
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 c. Smokin Grill barbecue sauce (from Newson's Store in Princeton) or any other smoky flavored barbecue sauce.
  • 1/2 c. strained honey

Directions

    Combine first 7 ingredients and mix well.

    Add 1/2 cup barbecue sauce and mix again.

    Form into an oblong loaf.

    Spread 1/2 cup barbecue sauce on top.

    More may be used, if desired. Then drizzle half the honey over all.

    Bake at 350° for approximately 45 minutes.

    Remove loaf and repeat barbecue sauce and honey method over all when loaf is half done.

    You may brown the top for additional flavor.
