- 1 cake or pkg. yeast
- 1 c. warm buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. shortening
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm buttermilk; set aside.

2Sift soda, salt, sugar and flour into a bowl.

3Cut in shortening.

4Add yeast mixture.

5Stir until blended.

6Knead and roll 1/2-inch thick. Cut.

7Dip in melted butter.

8Place in greased pan; let rise 1 hour. Bake at 400° for 12 minutes.
