Dill Pickle Surprise

  • 1 gal. whole dill pickles
  • 1 bulb garlic
  • 1/3 c. Crisco or Wesson oil
  • 9 c. sugar

Directions

    Rinse and cut in thick slices; put in 2 (1 gallon) jars.

    Add 1/2 garlic to each jar.
  3. 3
    Pour 1/3 cup oil over each jar.
  4. 4
    Add 4 1/2 cups sugar to each jar and seal.

    Shake until all sugar is dissolved.

    I shake ever so often for about 2 hours and chill in refrigerator for about 3 days.

    Delicious.
