  • 1 c. pickling salt (rock or ice cream)
  • 3 qt. water
  • 1 qt. vinegar
  • 2 fresh heads dill
  • 2 toes garlic
  • 1/4 tsp. alum
  • 1 large dried red chili

Directions

    Wash and clean cucumbers. Soak in ice water overnight. Pack in quart jars. Mix the first 3 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Next, add to cucumbers in jar the next 4 ingredients. Cover with vinegar mixture. Seal and put in a water bath for 5 minutes.
