  • 1 large Spanish onion, sliced in thin rings
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dill weed
  • 1/2 c. white vinegar
  • 1/4 c. water

    Slice onions in rings and separate each one.

    Place in large neck jar or bowl that can be covered.

    Make brine of sugar, salt, vinegar and water.

    Bring to rolling boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Cool and pour over onion rings.

    Cover and let stand overnight or longer in refrigerator.
  6. 6
    Stir or shake them every once in a while.
