Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 1/2 or 7 c. flour

Directions

    Mix the yeast, 1 teaspoon sugar and 1/2 cup warm water.

    Let stand.

    Mix 2 cups warm water, shortening, 2/3 cup sugar, eggs and salt.

    Beat in 3 cups flour, then add yeast mixture.

    Beat well, then add rest of the flour.

    Put in covered bowl and let rise. Punch down and let rise again.

    Shape into rolls and place in greased pan.

    Let rise.

    Bake 15 minutes at 375°.
