Ingredients

  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 6 c. plain flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten

Directions

    Boil 1 cup water, add butter and shortening.

    Stir until melted.

    Add sugar and salt.

    Cool to lukewarm.

    Mix yeast in 1 cup warm water.

    When dissolved, add to mixture.

    Add 2 eggs.

    Add 6 cups flour or enough to make thick dough.

    Mix thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
