  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • pecan halves
  • 1/2 c. white Karo
  • 2 egg whites, beaten
  • pinch of salt

Directions

    Combine sugar, Karo and water. Cook until it forms a hard ball (260°).
  2. 2
    Add 1/2 of the sugar mixture to beaten egg whites, beating while adding mixture.
  3. 3
    Cook the remaining mixture a few more minutes. Add vanilla, salt and the rest of the sugar mixture. Beat until it loses its gloss and begins to slightly harden. Drop on waxed paper. Top with a pecan half.
