Directions

   Cook sugar, syrup and water until it spins a thread and pour half over stiffly beaten egg whites.

   (Beat as you pour in with an electric mixer.)

   Cook remaining half until it hardens in 1/2 cup cold water.

   Pour into first mixture and beat until creamy.

   When it thickens, drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
