Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Place sugar, syrup and water in same saucepan and cook to 248°.

    Remove from heat and let temperature drop to 220°, without stirring.

    Place egg whites in bowl and whip to soft peak.
  4. 4
    Add syrup at medium speed for about 2 1/2 minutes. Turn to high speed and whip 20 to 25 minutes or until it begins to dry.

    Drop from greased spoon onto a greased platter.

    (Candy thermometer a must and beating time important for best results.)
