Ingredients

  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • nuts or coconut
  • 1 egg white, beaten until it holds peak
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cook sugar and water until it reaches hard ball stage, 260°, on candy thermometer. Pour over egg white, beating constantly. Beat until stiff.

    Fold in nuts and drop by spoonful on wax paper and cool.
