- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 2 egg whites
- 2/3 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cook sugar, syrup, salt and water until a small amount forms a soft ball when tested in cold water.

2Take out 1/2 cup of this mixture and cook the rest until it forms a hard ball when tried in cold water.

3Pour the 1/2 cup of syrup slowly over the beaten egg whites.

4Beat constantly.

5Continue beating.

6Add the remains of the syrup.

7Add nuts and vanilla; keep beating until mixture thickens and becomes heavy.
