- 1 c. onion, chopped
- 1 c. celery, chopped
- 1 c. carrots, chopped
- 1/3 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. plain flour
- 2 c. chicken broth
- 1 c. evaporated milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 4 c. cooked chicken, chopped
Directions

1Saute onion, celery and carrots in butter for 10 minutes.

2Add flour to sauteed mixture, stirring well.

3Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.

4Combine broth and milk; gradually stir into vegetable mixture.

5Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.

6Stir in salt and pepper.

7Add chopped chicken, stirring well.

8Pour chicken mixture into a shallow 2-quart casserole.

9Top with pastry and cut slits for steam.

10Bake at 400° for 40 minutes.
