  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1/4 c. oil

Directions

    Heat oil slightly (medium). Sift flour and mix with all but 4 tablespoons of buttermilk. Put the 4 tablespoons on top of batter and pour medium hot oil on top of buttermilk. Stir well and drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto bread pan with lip. Bake at 475° for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
