Easy Clam Puff

  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. scalded milk
  • 1 (10 oz.) can minced clams with broth
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • ground pepper
  • 18 saltines, crushed
  • 1 can cream of mushroom or Cheddar cheese soup
  • 1/2 c. milk or water

Directions

    Stir margarine into warm milk to melt.

    Stir in clams, eggs, onion, salt and pepper to blend.

    Stir in crackers until thoroughly blended.

    Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Bake in preheated 350° oven until puffed and golden, about 40 to 45 minutes.

    Serve with sauce made of soup blended with 1/2 cup milk or water.
