  • 2 lb. stew beef, cubed
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 2 tsp. oil
  • 4 small onions, quartered
  • 4 small carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 4 small potatoes, halved
  • 1 c. sliced celery
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce

Directions

    Combine flour, salt, pepper and paprika in a paper bag.

    Shake beef pieces (a few at a time) until coated.

    Mix with oil in 3-quart casserole.

    Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes at 400°. Stir once.

    Add vegetables, water and tomato sauce.

    Mix well. Cover; bake at 350° for 1 3/4 hours or until done.
