- 1 lb. lean round steak (3/4-inch thick)
- salt and pepper
- 2 c. sauerkraut
- 2 c. tomato juice
- 1 medium onion, sliced
Directions

1Broil steak 3 to 4-inches from heat for 5 minutes on each side or until browned.

2Place steak in skillet.

3Add undrained sauerkraut, tomato juice and onion slices.

4Cover and cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hours or until tender.

5Also can be done in the oven at 325° or 350°.

6Put over mashed potatoes.

7Serves 4.
