  • 1 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 2 c. warm to hot water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 4 c. self-rising flour

Directions

    Beat egg.

    Mix in sugar and Crisco.

    Add flour. Stir yeast and water and pour into other ingredients.

    Mix with a spoon. Grease muffin pan well. Fill 3/4 full with dough.

    Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or as brown as you like. Store remaining dough in covered bowl in refrigerator.

    It will keep for about a week.
