Ingredients

  • 15 slices sandwich bread or 12 regular
  • 1 lb. Velveeta cheese
  • 3/4 lb. margarine
  • 4 c. milk
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • sliced mushrooms, diced bacon, ham or sausage may be added

Directions

    Cube bread and place in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Top with mushrooms and/or meats.

    Melt cheese and margarine in saucepan and pour over bread.

    Beat milk, eggs, salt and dry mustard together. Pour over bread in pan.

    Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Bake at 350° for 2 hours, uncovered, sitting in a cookie sheet filled with water.

    Serves 12 to 15.
