  • 4 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. scalded milk

Directions

    Beat eggs just to mix (a good foam).

    Gradually add sugar, salt and vanilla.

    Add scalded milk last.

    (Do not let milk boil.) Pour into a deep pie pan and sprinkle with nutmeg.

    Bake 5 minutes at 450°.

    Reduce heat to 400° and bake 25 minutes (until set).
