- 3 large eggs, beaten slightly
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. milk, scalded
- nutmeg
Directions

1Preheat oven to 415°.

2Mix eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla. Pour into scalded milk and stir well.

3Pour into unbaked pie shell and sprinkle with nutmeg.

4Bake for 15 minutes.

5Reduce heat to 350° and bake about 20 minutes longer or until custard is set.

6Test with a knife an inch or so from the center of the pie.
