- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2Cream butter or margarine, sugar and vanilla until mixture is light and fluffy. Slowly blend in the flour.

3For each cookie, shape one level tablespoon of dough around a cherry. Form each cookie into a ball and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet 1 inch apart.

4Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
