  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 clove garlic - minced
  • 1 1/2 c chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 to 1 c tomato puree (tomato sauce can be used to make it more pourable)

    1. In a large heavy skillet, saute the flour and oil over medium heat for 1 minute.

    2. Add herbs, spices, and garlic. Cook for 1 more minute, then add broth, tomato puree and lime juice.

    3. Raise the heat to high and boil, stirring constantly until thickened.
