- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- flour
Directions

1Dissolve 1/4 cup sugar in 1/4 cup warm water.

2Sprinkle 1 package yeast in this mixture.

3In another bowl, mix 2 tablespoons shortening, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and 2 cups warm water. Add yeast mixture to this and add enough plain flour to make a stiff dough.

4Turn out on floured surface.

5Knead well.

6Place in greased bowl, let rise overnight or until it rises good.
