- 3 c. cooked garbanzo beans
- 1/4 c. liquid from beans
- 1/4 c. wheat germ
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 4 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1/4 c. sesame seed
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp. basil
- 3/4 c. wheat germ
Directions

1Place beans and liquid in blender and puree.

2Put in bowl; add all ingredients except 3/4 cup wheat germ.

3Roll into 1 1/2-inch balls.

4Add enough wheat germ so balls will hold together.

5Bake at 400° for about 15 minutes (place on cookie sheet).

6Serve in heated pita bread (2 or 3 balls) with lettuce, tomato, alfalfa sprouts and tahini dressing.

7Makes 20 to 24 balls.
