- 1 packet dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. milk or water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. margarine (1/2 stick)
- 4 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in milk or water.

2Add sugar, salt, margarine and flour.

3Mix all ingredients with a wooden spoon.

4Cover and let rise in warm place for 30 minutes.

5Form pretzels; brush with slightly beaten egg or a little egg white with a few drops of water.

6Sprinkle with coarse salt and bake at 425° for 15 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
