- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions

1Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

2Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly.

3Pour in milk and egg.

4Mix only until flour is dampened (dough should be lumpy).

5Drop by spoonfuls on top of meat or fruit mixture as desired.

6Cover tightly and steam 12 minutes without lifting cover.

7Makes 6 dumplings.
