- 6 egg yolks
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 5 Tbsp. heavy cream
- 2 Tbsp. brandy or whiskey
- 1 Tbsp. lemon rind
- 1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
- 2 c. flour
- salad oil
Directions

1Beat egg yolks for 20 minutes, until light and lemon colored. Add sugar gradually; beat for 15 minutes.

2Add cream, whiskey, rind and cardamom.

3Add flour and mix.

4Make a stiff dough.

5Store in refrigerator overnight.

6Turn dough out on lightly floured board and roll out to a 1/8-inch thickness.

7Cut in diamond or other shapes.

8Fry cookies until light brown in deep oil, heated to 360°. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
